my project textron
hey guys. i been on here for a few now. just getting aroundto building my hunting buggy. got a deal on this 02 txt..200 bucks. no batteries and the front axle was bent pretty good. a come-a -long fixed the axle enough for now. a new tie rod and we should be ok til i lift it. planning on goin 48v and would love to do an LT lift but money may only allow for a 4" for now. the terrain around here isnt too bad and i dont plan on being THAT fast. any ideas or tips/hints are welcome! i posted these pics in another thread i started a while back, just thought i would get a thread goin for the buggy itself.

Re: my project textron
tips - pull off everything you don't want or won't use and sell it.
The rear seat is also worth more then 2 bills. I don't like rear seats, if you aren't planning on using it - sell (they sell fast) and put the money towards batteries. Go 48 right off the bat - don't get 6's and say "i'll do 48 when these die" You've got a motor that will scream on 48, all you need now is a controller. Sell the controller you've got, and put that money towards an AllTrax tip 3 - Have FUN! |

Haha..great input guys! Had no idea on the motor..thanks! I knew the seat was worth a bit..was gonna put one on my marathon. Dad actually found this one for me lookin for the seat. I ended up gettin the whole thing for a song. I know i need a controller for 48..what else is required besides batts? And yea..doin it right from the start.

HD FNR switch with controller and you should be good to go.
When you install the 8's be sure to go with 4 gauge cable |

Re: my project textron
you will also need a charger.. Def. do the 4 g cables or even better 2 ga welders cables... I also agree with the post above. go 6 8v.. I can not wait to do that with mine.. I am still running 6s.. you will have a little rocket on your hands.. for a lil bit of nothing..
congrats on the find.. |

Yea roger on the charger. Still lookin for an affordable option on that. Will prolly do 4ga wires unless i score some welder leads for cheap. Can someone explain whats special about this motor? Honestly..i hqvent even tested it yet. Next time im able..gonna put 3 12vs on it just to see what works and doesnt. Thanks again guys..yall gettin me excited about the build

Re: my project textron
Nice Score! You did a lot better than I did on my $200 cart.(got an 89 resistor cart) I am curious to see how you make out with the electronics and motor. if it all goes well you will have a quick little unit. esp. if you step up to 48V and a bigger amp controller. Keep us posted, and good luck!
