Default Replacing a 48V controller with 36v controller

My Alltrax AXE 400 is sick(probably dead).
So my question is, I have my old 36v controller. Can I replace my 48v controller with the 36v controller and just disconnect the 2 extra batteries?

I have the 48v solenoid, 400ohm resistor, HD FnR switch. 8-6v batteries.

That would work but I think the resistor may need to change based on the two value resistors ScottyB posts on his web site.

Sorry for your problems in the other thread, I just sold an Alltrax controller and shipped it yesterday. I was going to post up and let you know but the diagnosis was not complete yet.

What plum quick motor do you have? I know on some of their motors they recommend 48volts min.

not all 48v solenoids will operate on 36v. Which one do you have? I hate to see you do this ...... down grading is never a good option.

I have the Bandit. It is a 36-48v motor.

scotty, I'm not sure which one I have, it came with the upgrade kit I got from you. since your kits change, I know that is not much help. I will see if I can find a picture of it(since I'm not home).

I dont want to do this either, but since I'm about to be furloughed, I can't afford any extra until this is all over.

With the bigger tires and the kid driving it I suspect it will smoke the stock controller. Maybe just sell it needing a controller?

Here is the solenoid. I hope it helps.

The kid will have very limited access until this is corrected. But momma can drive it to the store.

Selling it is on the table

Thanks scottyb.
I found the old controller. However it has 4 cable connections. the Alltrax has 3. Also the Alltrax has spade connections, but the old controller has pins and I think it used to have a molded connection. Yep I dont have that.
Hopefully I can find a fix for this so I can verify that the controller is the issue. Then I can move forward.

Does anyone know the pin/wire layout for the molded connection?
I am gonna have to make individual connections for each wire and I dont know what wire goes to which pin on the controller
