New (to me) 2008 EZGO
Trading my four wheeler for a 2008 EZGO this weekend, 48v, lift, tires and new batteries. I believe it's a TXT because of the F&R switch location between the legs in the pics. Aside from general cleanliness, battery condition (water levels, etc), and overall conditions, what should I ask or look for prior to sealing the deal? He said the electronics are "upgraded". I guess I'll see when I get there. How can I tell stock from upgraded? Looking forward to getting this as the 4 wheeler is only used a couple months a year at hunt camp and the cart will be used year round at the house plus hunt camp.

Re: New (to me) 2008 EZGO
2001 Honda Rubicon 500. High miles and a little rough, but runs like a Honda! I paid $2500 for it 5 years ago and figure based on miles, needing new tires, etc, I could sell it for $2k right now...not much more. It's a good swap for me even if I come out ahead or behind a little bit in the deal.

No not yet. I'll have more info come Saturday when I check it out in person.
Anything in particular I should look for or look out for that will sway me to trade or not trade? |

Re: New (to me) 2008 EZGO
Appears to be a plain vanilla TXT series cart (Series meaning, it has a series wound motor)
The tires appear to be taller than stock height (18"), so the Controller, Solenoid and high-current cables all need to be higher capacity than stock. You say it is a 48V system, so the Cables should be 4Ga or heavier, the solenoid should be 200A continuous or higher and the controller should be 400A or greater. The battery pack is probably six 8V batteries under the seat (it might be eight 6V batteries, but that is a feature that probably would have been mentioned) The 8V batteries should have at least a 170AH @ 20 Hour rating to be equal to a stock 36V battery pack. The high the AH, the better. The batteries are the heart of the system and a major investment, so take a voltmeter with you and measure the pack voltage and the voltage of each battery. A fully charged 48V pack should read about 50.9V, a fully charged 8V battery should read about 8.49V and all batteries should read within about 0.1V of each other. |
