Help 2002 TXT Wont do anything!

Hey everyone

I have recently bought a 2002 TXT, I am pretty sure its a DCS not a PDS? Not sure how to tell really except someone told me the switch by the key or the tow hitch one.. ANYWAY

It stopped working the first night I got it. I changed the batterys with newer ones, and it wouldnt work. So I put the original batterys back in, it would beep for reverse, but when you push the pedal it will not do anything. Then, the beeper stopped working all together and now the cart does NOTHING. The batterys are charged, cables TIGHT, CLEANED, checked all connections. Im new at these things so any advice would help before this thing ends up in a lake.

Ok........ Gotta start with a volt meter. Get a volt meter and check the total pack voltage at the main positive and main negative connections. You can check it at the charger recepticle on the outside just under the seat (if you are unshure where it's located).

Let us know what the voltage is.

Note: If there is no voltage, you have an open circuit somewhere.

Ok, volt meter says 36 on the dot

Your going to have to figure out what kind of speed control you have and let us know before going any further. View the stickies in the top of the forum for wiring diagrams and manuals. Its real easy to get a cable mis-wired, doesn't matter how careful you are.


P.S. 36 volts in a 36 volt pack is considered dead.

Also, how can I tell if my golf cart is a dcs or not I read the stickys, but I dont understand
