85 Electric EZGO Cart wont start
I just bought an 85' 36 volt ez go golf cart, for $100.
previous owner said it ran last year. I reconditioned the 6 trojan batteries, now holding a full charge.I have cleaned all electric conections, replaced wires connecting batteries 6 guage w/4 guage. I am getting limited power through the forward/reverse switch in reverse only. The solenoid clicks once with key on stepping on gas to start. If i bypass solenoid i still get nothing it seems i should replace forward/reverse assembly. I have little experience with electric motors. I took this one apart, brushs are in good shape,it looks to be in good working order. still i cant get it to start. Is there a way I can put power directly to the motor long enough to see that it works? sugestions or advice welcomed, and appretiated. I am looking forward to getting this cart up and running so i can begin modifying it. The first of many, I hope. Thanks THEJESSO |

Re: 85 Electric EZGO Cart wont start
Thanks again for feedback. motor tests reveal my motor is no good in my EZ GO. I have couple of questions, who would you recomend to service my motor? and is it possible to increase horse power? and whats a ball park cost? Can someone tell me, my 85 EZGO....is it dcs or pds
or IQ type ? i do not beleive it has a controller. The manufacture # is D 17 85. I just picked up a 73 cushmen golfster # 8910z7310 for $200 with new trojan batteries and 36 volt charger. can anyone tell me is it DCS PDS PPS OR I Q TYPE ? And where would i find an extra long shift lever ? Im picking up a harley 3 wheeler this week in sweet shape for only $400. Thats 3 carts in 3 weeks for $700, and i feel i am just getting started. Thanks for any and all input. THEJESSO |
