Will a 98 TXT motor fit in an 05 TXT??

I have a 98 EZ GO TXT and am buying an 05 TXT and want to switch motors as I have a high speed motor in mine. I think there is 3 types, EZ GO series, DCS, and PDS. I know the 05 is not PDS, but unsure of the other.

More less how do I know which engine it has?

If either cart has a tow/ maintenance switch with the OEM contoller it will not work. Does your 05 have the fwd/ reverse switch by your knee?

So if they both have switch in between your legs and no run tow switch they will interchange?

I have a 97 TXT, and mine has the FNR switch under my knee, but mine did not have a tow/go switch anywhere.

I have not seen one of these switches on a cart. Are they normally located on the controller or on the motor case?

The run/tow switch will be on the plastic controller cover on ANY E-Z-Go sepex cart (DCS or PDS).
