1999 Ezgo Txt
Need some help. 1999 EZGO J199 Cart that shuts off in the middle of a hill with throttle on half. Only way to get it restarted is to tun the key off and on. Any ideas?

Sounds like the controller is going into thermal shutdown.

if you turn the key off and on like as soon as it shuts off will it start running again? if so i don,t think its a controller as when they go into thermal overload it takes a bit of time for them to cool down when that happens.......if you can drive the cart without the cover bolted over the controller when it shuts off look to see if the light on controller is blinking and ifs its green or red light.............than when you turn the key off and on look at the light count the blinks and the color.......if the light is blinking green you should be ok but if its red than theres a problem there..................

It's a stock rebuilt controller. It has no lights.
