Need new batteries
Cart mods are coming along just fine with everyones help, thanks!
I had a problem this weekend though..., seems my battery tray didn't have tie-downs or loc-blocks to hold them in place, and a couple of speed bumps caught me by suprise..., causing batteries to jump out of their tray, two of which now have leaks. Bummer. Anyway..., where would be a good place to compare and buy batteries, locally or online? Since I'm upgrading to 48-72 volts I'd like to compare 6-8-12v specs and prices. Can't seem to find these at SAM's online anymore (Powerfast GC2). Any assistance is welcomed. |

Re: Need new batteries
I recently puchased batteries at Sam's. The 6v were $66 each and 8v were $77 each. Sams doesn't sell 12v GC batteries(not in area anyway).

Re: Need new batteries
You will not be able to purchase batteries online for 2 reasons:
Shipping costs make it too expensive Regular carriers will not transport corrosives You can research prices all you want, but you're gonna need to go get them in the end. |

Re: Need new batteries
I have the Sam's Interstate 6v's, had them for about three years, and the only thing I didn't like about them is they were always thirsty..., I always seemed to be adding water.
I'd really like to run 2 sets of 3-12v to make charging easier. A little concerned about what 72v will do to that stock motor. We don't run it hard, but I don't want to be smeeling hot wires and smoke all the time either. BTW, any idea how they determine current delivered to the controller from battery packs? |
