Default New Motor Wires? 97 txt DCS

Hi all, after redoing my battery rack with the starter kit of KBS (works great!), I put the 7 year old batts back in and ran the wires. The battery wires were special made (2 or 4 guage) about 6 years ago. The main wires to the solenoid and motor are original. After a test run there was smoke coming from the batt compartment, one of the main wires to the motor was disintengrating near the end (solenoid) so I cut off the bad part and put a new copper connector on and it seemed to run ok, did not recharge due to time. Think I should replace those main wires? If so, where can I get them??
Thanks,

Sounds like you are getting close to needing to replace the batteries and the cable set. Having new, old, & mixed gauge cables is an invitation for a heat problem. Running a stock DCS control on very old batteries is risky. The stock DCS controller has a weakness. It will burn up in a low voltage situation.
If you use this cart very much new batteries are inevitable, buy them now to avoid replacing the controller. If it spends as much time on the charge as it does being driven then you may be okay for a while longer.
Average battery pack life is 5 years.
I hope this helps

I figured the batts would need replaced too, it's an alltrax 400amp controller. Any idea where to buy the main cables. Think I should also replace the newer battery cables? (they are probably also 6 years old)
