Default 36volt hunting buggy

With a lot of help from this site, I am in the process of turning a '96 36v txt series cart into a hunting buggy. Did a lift and 23" swamp fox tires. Upgraded the fr switch, solenoid, and all cables. The previous owner just had bought new batteries a few days before I bought it so I for now have no plans to go to 48v until batteries are trash.
My question is, What kind of gains can I get by upgrading to a 36volt 400a controller vs the stock controller?
Did a few test drives and seems to do the job as is, but you know how most of us men are. "NEED MORE POWER"!!

If you have new batteries wouldn't it be a good time to consider adding 2 more batteries?

The stock controller will fail in an off road buggie. The increased demand for amperage will eventually overheat the control enough times to bring on complete failure. You can replace it now and sell the stock control for a stock cart while it still works.
The controller limits the amount of amperage the motor can draw. This is how it regulates speed. The further you press the peddle the more amperage it allows to pass. The stock control has an upper limit of 275 amps. The control you asked about has a limit of 400 or in the case of an SPM 400 = 460amps. Amperage is what the motor consumes to make torque. More amps = more torque.

Thanks scottyb! What kind of changes can be expected? A return back to before the lift? More?
Didn't realize they're is much of a market for used stock controllers. What are they worth?
