2008 EZ-GO RXV intermittent run and stop
2008 RXV 48V electric will drive for about 100 yards and stop or slow down to 5 mph or less. I turn the cart off and wait It will run again and go do the same thing. Run 1oo yards and stop or slow down. Batteries are charged and in good condition. Three carts that do this.
Thank you, Brian |

Re: 2008 EZ-GO RXV intermittent run and stop
Are you saying that you have 3 carts acting in this manner? Do you get any kind of smoke or a smell of burning? Do you have the old brake style that has the handle off to the side of the brake that is attached to the motor or the new style. Basically we need more information to help diagnose a possible problem. My first thought thou is the resistor which is located behind the run/tow switch or a brake issue. Just from my experience with my RXV's.

No smells coming from the carts. The brake is attached to the motor with the lever sticking out. Tell me more about the resister.
Thank you |

Re: 2008 EZ-GO RXV intermittent run and stop
It would smell if it was the resistor. I would go thru and check voltage of the entire pack of batteries and individual voltage of each battery you want each battery to be with in .02 voltage. Also make sure all the battery terminals are clean and tight. I am thinking there is maybe a lose plug or bad connection somewhere in the system.

Thank you for giving me a starting point. I do not know much about the RXV cart.

Re: 2008 EZ-GO RXV intermittent run and stop
Always start with batteries is what I have figured thus far. I am just a hobbyist but have owned and done every upgrade I can think of to my RXV so am fairly familiar with them. If your 4 batteries are all pretty much equal in voltage and you have a good charge then we will move on. FYI to get an accurate check on batteries I always charge wait for indicator light to go solid green. Unplug for at least 2-4 hours and recharge. When light goes solid green again unplug and let cart sit for about 2-4 hours and then test batteries. All 4 batteries fully charged should be in the neighborhood of 51 volts or about 12.75 volts each this can of coarse change due to factors but should be close.

Re: 2008 EZ-GO RXV intermittent run and stop
Hey guys I don't know if you already figured out what was going on but I had a cart come in with the same problem and I found it to be that the connectors were loose on the controller plug so I took the cap off and tightened up the ring connectors for the pins and put Dielectric grease in there and it worked perfectly fine and I haven't had the car come back since it's been about 2 weeks
