front springs

I have a 97 ezgo dcs. I have installed a new set of 12inch fairway alloy. I am having problems with the front tires rubbing on the body when you hit bumps and corners. The front springs are original and stock. I was thinking about installing a set of heavy duty springs or should i should i go with new stock springs. thanks harry

You only said you installed 12" wheels. No indication of tire size or any lift type or not. We need more info.

sorry about that. i have no lift on it. I am running 12" 225x35-12 low profile Tires. It clears most of the time it only rubs on bumps and corners.

Heavy duty rear leafs helped my 96' ezgo with similar tires as yours, slightly taller, but they still scrubbed when turning. Along with heavy duty rears, coil over shocks on the front may keep the body higher??? If not may have to at least do an economy lift kit.

i was looking at a kit on ebay for all four springs heavy duty for 160. i was just worryed about it riding like a lumber wagon. i am going to install a rear seat on it this year also.

several places have an economy lift for 95 bucks, I would think that a slight lift would do more for you instead of heavier springs.

It will ride firmer, but with a rear seat in the future, probably a must. I would try the set and also the coil overs may help in the front. I think some say shocks don't help with height, but coil overs add a little more sturdiness during the bumps and turning......but, cost nearly as much as your HD spring kit.

I just put a set of HD fronts on mine because of the same issue. My test run was across the neighbors back field, ruts and all. They do lift the front a bit higher than I wanted but the ride is great and there is no rubbing issue. I don't have a back seat so the rears will remain stock.

go ahead and splurge! get the new HD fronts... they may ride a bit firmer.
and when you do get that rear seat a set of rear springs is almost a must.
