Default Auxillary Battery Advise

I am planning to add a separate 12 volt battery for the accessories. What I would like to get is advise on the proper battery to purchase. Every thing I have researched says I should consider a good deep cycle battery.

I already have head lights and tail lights. I plan on adding turn signals and break lights and a horn... maybe a few "other" necessities.

Opinions all?

I bow to superior knowledge.

I went with a deep cycle marine battery from costco. It was not to expensive and the deep cycle is made to be drained to a lower level and recharged unlike a car battery for starting. The other thing you may want to look into is a 12v charger you can have connected and onboard so it only has to be plugged in.

Thanks for the reply's guys!

I like your schematic Crash.... I can understand it! Has about all the bells and whistles I am probably going to attempt to use.

After perusing the links crash gave me (and it took me a while to recognize that they were links!), I think I agree with tcascario and will look at Costco.
I had forgotten about marine batteries. Should be a tad cheaper then the Trojans I was looking at!

Now to work rounding up all the supplies.

Oh boy! I can see I have a lot to think over! You guys have good points to consider. I had forgotten all about lawn tractors and I have a Tractor Supply close by. I have got to look into the LEDs.

Make sure your grounding block does NOT connect the negative to the cart frame.
