Default Could a dim light be a toasted controller?

Hello my new Buggie Buddies.

Like many I have discovered great forums while in search of great answers. Although I have never spoken to you I have always admired you from a distance. But as of yesterday I am part of you, Suppose you might say "resistance is futile". Exactly what I told my battery cables last week.(haha) I am to the end of my answers and am now asking for yours. I am about to buy a controller. (only if I need to). To my question, the fully functional cart that I am pimping out is a 2000 txt with a dcs system. My pursuit for answers started when I noticed the charged indicator stays dimly lit when the key is off. I suspected a backfeeding issue so I started looking for clues. I went Matlock on my cart. While off, the feed wire from the switch to the meter has 7volts. I discoverd the diodes were blown off the resistor board on the solenoid, I installed new diodes of equal value and same direction. This made no diffrence. Long story short, 2 hrs later and a worn out schematic, the 7 volts appears to be coming from the 1206sx control box, pin six, yellow wire. Currently I suspect a popped diode in the controller, even though a visual inspection of the internal components of the controller reveals no such thing. But I must admit there is alot going on in there and I did not split the boards to investigate further. Is there something else I should be looking at? Even though the cart is fully functional I need to have it operating correctly. I use it at an airport and if it takes off by itself and takes out a challenger or something, I suspect my days would be numbered. Also, I am thinking a DCX400 as a replacement if need be, the turbo button sounds cool. It would match my cart, it has slowly evolved into a GTKR500 and the turbo would go good with the nitrous bottle I use for an airtank. Anyway Is there Better controller to have? if not best place and best price? Thank ya much from a long tall Texan.

Welcome to BGW!

A friend of mine has a '97 DCS cart and his SOC bar graph meter works the same way. When you switch the controller to TOW, the meter darkens completely. His has been this way since new with no issues.

Exactly what mine is doing, just wonder if it should be a safety concern. Seems like something is still energized when it should not be. Thanks for the input.
