Question Testing motor without controller

Testing motor without controller I linked s1 to a2 hooked s2 to positive 36volts a1 to 36 volt neg no spark no movement did I do this right?

You can only test the motor while it's installed on the rear-end. It only has one bearing.

Here's some information I found on the web:

Disconnect and label all the wires going to the motor. Check for continuity between F1 & F2 and A1 & A2 on the motor. You should not have continuity between A1 & F1. You can also apply positive to A1 and negative to F1 and jumper across A2 and F2 and the motor should run.

It works the same way, just substitute S where it says F.
