FWIW,
My setup is in my sig below. I have an on board ammeter and rarely see a need for 500 amps for more than an instant. We have hills and I carry passengers, but even climbing our steepest hill, I don't get anywhere close to 500 amps.

I have a speed machine though. If you are going for torque, you may could use the extra amperage.

The AXE4865 has a peak output of 650a. It is computer programmable.
The GE700 has a peak output of 800a. It is adjustable with a screwdriver.
The AXE has more adjustments, like half speed reverse.
The AXE has an LED status & fault code indicator.
The AXE has a 2 year warranty, the GE has a 1 yr warranty.
The AXE costs about $150 more. Both controls have a good track record.

I have the alltrax 500 with a D&D 502.2 torque motor. Thing is a beast. I run 27mph and the torque is amazing.
