Default Ezgo rxv parking brake assembly

My 09 ezgo rxv is not working properly if I turn the key from off to reverse or forward it won't move but if I do it a few times it will finally work. I removed the electronic parking brake and kept it plugged in while just sitting it in the bag well it still does the same thing is there anyway I can bypass it all together or use a jumper wire of some sort please help

Probably the solenoid, but RXV's are tricky. There are a lot of sensors, etc that could cause a similar problem.

Good luck. I have had this same issue with my 2008 RXV since I bought it 9 months ago:(:(:(. I created threads here asking assistance but did not get information to solve it. Seems there is not much knowledge on this series like the other earlier units by ezgo or units by club car. I have tried just about everything including by-passing (jumpering out with a wire) the brake assembly. The only thing left is a new controller but that is an expensive option to try and fix this...yikes! Imagine if that did not fix it afterwards and all the $$$ wasted on a new cont.:(

PS. I almost thought I had it solved once. I jumpered out the thermal sensor on top of the resister at the controller (under passenger side seat). I turned my key like 5 times in a row and the cart moved...then the 6th time and 7th and I think 8th time was a bust:( So I am back to about a 20-25% chance of the cart moving when I turn the key.

I am far from an expert but I do not think a new brake assembly will fix/correct the run/no-run issue. It will fix the brake if it is not working perhaps but the other issue is somewhere else in my opinion. It really does stink. It blows when I try to show off and have 3 people jump on for a ride in my backyard and the cart won't move. The only saving grace is it does end up moving eventually. I have never had to tell folks to get off there will be no ride...instead 3-4-5 key attempts and it will kick in. I have checked each battery individually. Every inch of wire and related connection points, pedal switch, brake switch, brake assembly, motor (out on bench). Did the Johnny tests mentioned in another thread. To no avail.

If you do figure yours out please share it here. There was another person that had the problem here and all of a sudden he stopped posting in that thread. I pm'd him to see if he solved it but never got a reply:(

I'm just a lurker when it comes to RXVs. However, there are some companies that actually try and solve problems using social media. They welcome posts of problems, and try - publicly - to solve them.

I don't know about EZ-GO, but you may want to search around and see if they have usenet (old school), Facebook, Twitter, etc. places where folks post and they chime in.

If you find one, stick with the facts. If they even exist, you don't want to piss them off if they're trying to help.

Most companies are stupid though. Golf carts are becoming more and more acceptable as modes of transportation. Besides fleets of carts on golf courses, there are a ton of potential customers, and they should be working to fix any problems with their "new and improved" models.

If I read the original post correctly you said you tried taking the brake off and left it off with wiring connected and cart would not move when the pedal was pushed ? If that is the case it is not the brake.

And btw, that motor brake directly from EZ-Go is $225
