it took it forever to charge.....
WOW.....well I just wanted to share......we had a family function yesterday and I ensured the cart was all charged up (100%) I knew we would be giving the little ones a ride which wasn't very far.....but I have older grandkids and their friends too....The cart went out a few different times and was gone for a bit, so I really don't know how far they went and knowing kids, it was most likely FLOORED the whole time, LOL later in the afternoon I checked the pack after it rested a bit and it had been run down to right at 55% SOC.....so it want right into the garage and on the charger. that was at about 6 p.m. and it FINALLY shut off at 10:30 this morning.....WOW I NEVER let the SOC go below 70% and plug her in every day after use......I was almost afraid that something was wrong with the charger and wouldn't shut off on its own. But is did......It was a GREAT day and a lot of fun was had on the cart.

Re: it took it forever to charge.....
Over 14 hours on charge from 55% SoC sounds a wee bit long.
What charger you using? Glad you and the grand kids had fun. Thanks for sharing. |

It's the original PowerWise II that came with the cart (2007).....It has always done its job.....and takes the batteries to 45.4v before shutting off. it normally doesn't that long to charge as I plug it in after every days use. |

Re: it took it forever to charge.....
I took a long ride today.....went fishing......once I got home the cart was down to 70%. So on the charger it went......after 4 hrs the charger turned off and was at 100%.....so I am sure all is good.

Sounds like it is charging the batteries okay if it takes the pack to 45.4V and is running at about 5A when it shuts off. Check the Voltage at the wall outlet when it first comes on, they are very sensitive to line voltage and the initial amps are down a bit when the input is below 120VAC. Just speculating, but that could be the reason for the longish charge time from 55% SoC. |
