'What year is my cart?'

Had this cart "drop" in on me the other day. Want to fix it up but cannot find out what year it is. The tag under the drivers side seat, on the wheel well had the following info.

Model X440-2GE
Serial 424X1201
Mfg 242-1527G

EZGO 3-Wheel Cart

I have search everywhere on this forum and can't figger out the year.

According to the serial number you provided your Golf Car was built in April of 1972.

wait i have an old ezgo and cant figure the year somw said the last 2 digits of the model number. the last 2 digits in the model are 80 so does that mean its an 80? thats about right because its a 3 wheeler?

Hello Gentlemen,

This is my first post and I need to figure out the year of my cart. I think it is a 93 ezgo but all of my components point me in the direction of a 94 because of the controller set up. Any help is appreciated.

S/N - 725925
MFG Code - A1493

Born on date is July 14, 1993.

What is your controller setup and why is it different from 1994? BTW, 94 was a model changeover year.

The wiring setup has a controller mounted on the back of a black plate and on the other side of the plate is a solenoid and I belive a speed potentiometer. It is a 36v cart and I have a 8.3 hp motor with a 400 amp alltrax controller, i just need to understand the the connections.
BTW thanks for giving me the year.

roady, great minds think alike!!!

Sounds just like a Marathon controller cart that's been upgraded. Let me know if you need a wiring diagram.

if it isn't too much of a hassle could i get that diagram. I am doing this as a college project. Hopefully I can have pictures up soon. Thanks so much for the help
