Question wiring 12v lights to 36v EZGO system

I am trying to hook up lights to a 1988 EZGO and it isn't working. I tried working with the two forums that were on here but no luck. Pleas help, the camp won't let me use it at night without lights. I am not sure how to drop in a picture but in my profile ther is a picture of the battery compartment.

To make your life easier, just by a 36v to 12v converter either from a vendor on here or Ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/120W-GOLF-CA...b775fe&vxp=mtr

I purchased this exact one a year ago, no issues other than it takes a few seconds for the lights to power up.

I wasn't in for something expensive as my cart was a 94 Ezgo.

You need to describe the converter or post a picture. Most have 4 wires. If one of the wires has a fuse installed it most likely goes to the positive end of your battery pack. It is hard to say about the rest without more info.

as mentioned, its got 4 wires. 1-RED, 1-YELLOW, AND 2-BLACK

Red 36V+ in, Black 36V- in ,Yellow 12+ out , Black 12- out.

you attach the RED wire to the positive of the first battery.
you attach the BLACK wire next to it to the NEGITIVE of the last battery.

this gives you the 36v IN

you attach the YELLOW to the positive of your LIGHTS system and the other BLACK to the negative .

I dealt with the same issue. I researched and found you take the ground to the negative on the second battery in the series. Put the hot on the positive post on the first battey in the series and then run it to your switch. I did this and my lights work like they should. I actually think they work better than the ones I have put on my gas powered cart. Good luck.
