Default RXV Controller ?

I have read there are Curtis and Danaher controllers for the RXV . I assume they are the same part and are interchangeable but made by different companies.

Nothing that I have ever heard about. I have talked with a company http://www.hpevs.com/about.htm and they stated they are coming up with a 650 amp controller and 30 hp motor setup direct replacement for the RXV by mid fall. I am real curious about the setup but I know it will cost a pretty penny.

Thanks for the reply. Golf carts are new to me. Got a 2008 RXV (straight off the golf course) a few weeks back and every once in a while when I turn the key to F or R and press the foot throttle I get a click or two but it does not move. I know the problem could be caused by several different things but the controller is the first thing that comes to mind.

That 30HP would be a nice replacement but I'm thinking like you $$$. Might need some special high speed paint so it want get blown of goin down the road (LOL).

The clicking is a known issue when you turn the key and press the throttle prior to it doing the magic you only get the clicking. . . . Turn key pause and then throttle usually fixes the issue

Good point, it could be operator error.

this is true (curtis= 2012.5->...danaher= 2012<-) but not in the 2five. i like the curtis better, i can make it go 25 without gears (sorry, cant reveal how, "somebody" will fix the "problem" if i do). also the curtis is much more tunable. the danaher and curtis ARE NOT direct interchange with each other, the plug isnt even the same. ezgo does make a kit to put the curtis in an older rxv. also, i hear there will soon be fully unlocked controllers for the "curtis" rxv.

I have had that exact same problem with my 2008 RXV since I bought it. Have tried everything except replacing the controller...hoping I do not need to. Have you had any luck figuring out the issue?

Mine did the same thing and finally went out. The cause was the solenoid, replace it soon or you may have to get towed at some point. Just did it and it fixed the problem. Buy a replacement solenoid on eBay now and save about $20.00 if you need to purchase it later from a dealer.
