Default PowerWise 2 Charger

I've just replaced the lead (dc end) with a longer wire to keep the charger in the shed and charge the cart while it's outside. It seemed like a simple wire replacement, till the charger wouldn't work after. I used the manual to track down a bad charge controller,(it works with a jumper installed). Did I cause the controller to burn up or could it be just a coincidence? Is there any good tips to replacing the controller, and where is a good place to buy it from? The charger is a 602718 PowerWise 2 and is date coded 4605 (36 v)
Thanks for any help!

I used a 10/3 stranded wire, it's not a factory wire, but I hooked all 3 up. I also wired them in 1 at a time, making sure not to mix them up. I assume that I caused the problem, because it happened at the same time that I replaced the wire. I just don't know how I did it.

Sometimes, when things are on their way out, all it takes is a little jostling to do them in.

Assuming your wiring is correct, it shouldn't have caused any harm.

Did you find a copy of the PW II manual on-line? If so, please post it, I've been looking for one.

I've been using a Lester 19300, which appears to be the about the same except for the case color and labels.

The control modules are expensive, so please verify the voltage on the red and black wires going into the potted module.
Should be identical to the voltage measured between the main + & - terminals on battery pack.

If it isn't, there is a wiring issue.
If it is, it could be the control module, but it might just be the relay board, so that needs to be checked.

-------
The part number for the control module w/relay board is 603194 and EZGO sells it for about $300. http://www.shopezgo.com/products/Ele...roduct_id=1535

Check with the Site Sponsors, one of them probably sells it for less. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/site-sponsors.php

Also, you can buy a DPI Accusense charger for less. http://www.cartsunlimited.net/48v_Battery_Charger.html

Yep JohnnieB.,I did find that manual online, and made a copy of it. I don't remember where, but I'll find it. I also found a controller w/ board for 71.99. With the test that the manual had me do,(jump the 2 wires)it seemed to run fine. If I can't find the manual, I'll copy mine and send it to you.
