Default clicking sound

Did I read somewhere that on an electric cart if you hear a "ticking or clicking" sound while travelling, it is possibly the solenoid? I have a 1994 36v Marathon. Thanks!

Clean the pebbles out of the tire treads.

The solenoid should stay energized all the while the pedal is pushed.

You might hear a clunk from the differential when you let your foot up a little. There is no backlash adjustment on the gears, only 30 weight oil is used, so they whine a bit and they clunk when you go from driving to coasting.

Also, check for loose stuff. It took me forever to get rid of all the rattles.

Pebbles in hubcaps?

Remove rear wheels. Re-torque castle nuts. Don't back off nut to align holes for cotter pins. Re-install wheels and tighten lug nuts in a cross pattern. Worked for me but one mans click is another mans clunk.

I have never experienced the clunk or whine in the gear set as described by JohnnieB. My cart is 13 years old and has LOTS of miles on it.

No Marathons in '94 I think. Medalist probably.
