Default Losing speed?

I have a 2003 ezgo txt pds electric golf cart 36v. When going forward and I press the pedal it drives slow. If I push the switch to reverse and then back to forward it will take off and drive at full speed. Once I stop and restart it drives slow again, until I put it back into reverse and back to forward again. I have replaced the batteries, the solenoid, controller and speed sensor and I still have The problem. Anything else that I could do?

I had a similar problem on a pds I had last month. When I turned the key on if I didn't push the gas within a couple seconds it would be real slow. For example, turn key on a wait for wife to come out for the ride.

I found the solenoid mis-wired. The small red wire on the large stud was on the wrong side of the solenoid, I moved it to the other large stud and the cart ran fast all the time no matter how long I left the key on.

I suggest you have a look at the solenoid wiring if this has always had the problem. If it used to run good what was the last repair done.

As a reminder, be sure to switch run/tow to tow before doing electrical work under the seat. Also wait 30 seconds from when you switch back to run before turning the key.

hi, there hasnt been any repairs done lately. We have been using it for a few weeks with no problems ..., went away for a few days and came back to it not running properly. We have checked the batteries, solenoid, controller and speed sensor and these all work fine. any other ideas?

Hopefully someone else has seen this problem before. I'm sort of stumped as to why the reverse switch can "reset" the controller to make it go fast again all of a sudden.

Check for worn insulation on the F1 &F2 cables where they are routed around battery box frame.

Sounds like you've replaced everything in the drive system except the F/R switch, ITS sensor and high current cables.

Was the controller New, Used or Rebuilt?

I'm pretty sure you replaced a controller going bad with a controller going bad.

If you plan on staying with a stock controller, FSIP has some remanufactured units that I understand are reliable.

If you plan to upgrade the drive system, check out the kits sold here:
