Re: HELP Painting Top
Mine is painted a satin black.
1st wash with a good soapy water and rinse thoroughly. 2nd get a paint adhesion promoter. 3rd apply multiple light coats of paint and allow it to cure for 24 hours before you handle it. |

Re: HELP Painting Top
What about just plasti-dipping it?

Re: HELP Painting Top
watch out for tree limbs it will snag but its easy to remove it and re apply if it starts to look too bad. I used spray on bed liner from a spray can works pretty good but still scratches

Re: HELP Painting Top
I was thinking about painting mine with Krylon fusion. I've used it on a couple Jeep wrangler fiberglass hardtops and it held up great.

Re: HELP Painting Top
I used bed liner black paint from lowes. I am pretty sure it was Rustoleum. It turned out pretty well on mine.

I am in the process of painting mine. I washed it, etc... I then applied a Krylon Primer for plastic. It went on pretty good. Took 2 cans, for top and bottom.
I the applied a couple coats of spray paint to the top, and I will be spraying the bottom soon. It is not installed into cart yet. I am worried about durability, and what it will look like after it flexes a bit. |

Re: HELP Painting Top
I used rustoleum bed liner on everything on my cart except the body, it got krylon fusion satin black. I really like the rustoleum bed liner, but on the top I didn't spray any adhesion promoter first. Or a base coat of fusion paint first. Just about everytime we run it through tree limbs it chips off around the sharper edges. The flat sections are sticking just fine. I just keep a can of bed liner on standby.

Did the same but used wax degreaser( what the body shop supply house said to use) and also used krylon fusion paint for plastic. Holds up pretty good. Used two cans on the top and two on the bottom.
