You need a voltmeter. Which drive system is this cart ? If it is a 94 I would assume series so it would have the shifter by your right leg and a rod coming from it to a box on the passenger side. As for wiring, it depends on what type of cart the 96 is. If they are both series they should be the same

It should be one of the two attached schematics.
They are electrically the same except for the "Ignition Interlock" (aka Reed Switch) in the upper left corner.

Perhaps, we should first identify which of the half dozen or so different models and drive train combinations EZGO produced in 1994, then figure out which is the correct schematic for it.

If you can find the serial number, entry it on the linked site and it will tell you what it was when it rolled off the assembly line.

Trying to do some research on here I don't know if this will help but with everything wired right as far as I can tell when you hit the accelarator pedal nothing happens no click from selonoid or anythinhi am at the campground where I bought it said needs new batterys put them in and new cables. Likfe I said it beeps when put in reverse but nothing else I brought a volt meter here with me today but it must have a blown fuse I can't get any readings even of my truck which runs fine.
