Default Battery tray

My tray is looking pretty rough. When I got the cart a few years back, and again when I recently installed the new Trojans, I cleaned it up with a wire brush and rush converter. I'm worried about it breaking and a battery or two dropping out. What can I do to prevent that?

I was thinking of finding some angle iron that will fit between the original and the batteries. That will spread the load across the entire length. Even a flat piece across all of the bottom section would work, I think?

New ones run between $65 and $175. and they have the tie downs already properly placed.

I just finished building mine. I bought angle at my local metal shop and had them cut the sections for me so all I had to do is weld them up. I've got $10 in materials and a few hours in fabbing and welding

You can add supports, weld them or rivet them in.... make sure you leave no bolt heads up where a battery case could rub a hole in itself ..... I have seen all sorts of functional repairs over the years... stay away from the plywood bottoms as they tend to hold the acid close to the metal and actually hasten the demise. Get creative.... it's just a golf cart

PS:
welding battery tray metal is the worse welding experience you can have..... there is no clean metal or welds.

I got mine on e-bay for $80. I have a 98 EZGO, dropped rite in.

Be very careful a simple battery tray swap can turn into a total make over still going through it

Ain't that the truth! A battery tray is what started my total rebuild too
