It finally happened to me
So my wie takes our RXV out with a cart load of kids and I get phone call about 30 minutes later that she was just simply diving it down the road at a medim speed and all the sudden it felt likethe brakes were being applied. She had enough time to get it off the street before it stopped, then nothing. I am able to put it into tow mode and with the keyin N it cn be pushed so the brakes are not 100% locked up. Any suggestuons before I load it and pay the local cart dealer to diagnose it. I got it home and charged the batteries an also disconnected the power to reset the controller with no luck. It sounds like it makes the normal beeps(checks) when you turn the key on. Thanks in advance for any input, Jeremy

Brake gonna need replaced. When it gets hot, starts to apply, cools off ok again. Unfortunately, you are pretty screwed on this. I have taken the brake off, cleaned it, scuffed the disk and steels, Try it again. Cleaned it, scuffed disk, try it again. Until i started getting brake slipping codes.

Re: It finally happened to me
somewhere here, there is a thread about this very issue, and within that thread, it talks about the fact that EZGO designed a new brake because of this problem, and its a direct replacement......Just use the search feature in the ezgo section and use brake in the search criteria to find it.

Re: It finally happened to me
Brake is just over 1 year old. It i a 2009 and it had the old brake style with the handle but it was updated. From what I read usually if it is the brake it won't roll not even in tow mode.

Re: It finally happened to me
Not always the case. I've had a few locally where the brakes failed, I would pop it in tow, or disconnect the power leads, give it a few, and I was able to roll it, all those cases, it ended up being the brake.

Re: It finally happened to me
Thanks for the link. I was going to remove the brake and clean it and see what happens. If it fixes the problem than I will go ahead and order a new one as I know it will only work temporarily.
