Winter storage

We keep our cart at a campground and will be closing up for the winter in mid October.

I can't find any info on storing a cart for the winter. I have a cover for it but it will stay at the campground all winter. The power there will be turned off. Is there anything I should do? Is it ok to just charge the batteries and just leave them in?

No its not .... that is unless you want to find them totally dead when you return in the spring. Unless you can come back about every 2 weeks with a charger and a generator for a total charge. OR remove them, take then home, set them up in series like normal and do it at home.

The batteries need to be cared for in the winter. Outside they will freeze when they self discharge. (assuming it gets cold there)

Can you take it home with you and store it in your garage? Then at least once a month you could check the battery water levels and connect the charger. And better yet....zoome it around your yard just to keep things moving.

But then....my cart is built for hunting.....so it's a 365 day a year cart. Yeah Buddy!!! Just like an old Timex watch!! Takes a lickin and keeps on ticking!!!

Noob here (sorry), i can't just let my golf cart sit in my garage from Dec-Mar? What should i do during the winter months as far as care? Sorry if this is already posted somewhere.

yes, You should charge the batteries than leave it for the winter (not being sarcastic)

You can NOT leave them for the winter. They self-discharge, so need to be topped up frequently. The quickest way to kill good batteries is to leave them discharged.

Check water levels, make sure all the posts and cables are clean, charge the batteries fully, disconnect the main negative cable and leave it. In the spring, hook the cable back up and plug the charger in. It will be fine. I do this for at least 20 to 25 people every year. No need to do anything else.

With the negative cable disconnected they will not self discharge and will hold the charge at about 80% over the winter.
