Cool 2001 Ez-go $1000 Should I??

I found a 2001 ezgo I think its a txt or a pds not sure which or really the differnce. I can get it for $1000. It has a powerwise charger. The catch is that it needs batteries. The guy said it sat for a year and he tried to charge it up and it wouldnt charge. He said at that point he then checked the batteries and they where bone dry. I guess this means that there is no hope for these batteries right? Just wondering what I could expect to sell this cart for with good or new batteries. Thanks Guys I love this forum!!

The 99 that I just bought needed batteries - ended up getting it for $500... $1K might be a bit high unless its a PDS.

I dont think the $1000 is a fair deal. If you could see it running, at least a little, it would be fine, but too many times these guys say, "It just needs batteries" and they always need work too.

Most folks know that when you sell a cart, you have to prove it runs, because you just can't get a good proce for one that needs batteries and work.

Just my 2 cents....................

Im starting to feel the same way after looking into to them more. I can buy one that runs for around 1700 bucks. Ponder on this I will.

I think non-running you shouldn't pay more than $500 or $600 for an other decent condition cart. That is about the upper limit I'd pay (with charger) so I know I could recover my money by parting things out if necessary. After buying a nearly complete cart for $125 WITH charger, it's hard to justify paying a whole lot for these things. lol

Wait a minute guys..., if the cart in question is the one in his avitar..., are you not forgetting the lift kit and tires that are already installed..., and she don't look all that bad.

On a side note..., get three 12 volt batteries in her and she will go for a test drive.

The cart in my avitar is not the one. I went ahead and bought the 01 ezgo. Its in really good shape. I think the batteries are ok. I am gonna post the identification numbers off it tommorrow. Maybe you guys can help me figure out what year exactly and model it is as that would be a great help. It is 36v and has a rear seat which is a plus.

rear seat is $250-350 alone, so that's a good addition. Adds value.
