Relocating Controler etc

I am relocating the controler, reversing contactor and solenoid (it will be just to the left of the controler. Anybody see any problem with this set up? Obviously not using the heat sink bracket.

Make sure the motor won't hit the controller or cables. I jumped up and down on mine, to make sure I had enough clearance.

Do you have a rear seat? Are you making room for one or two extra batteries? If you, you might want to consider HD leaf springs. Mine flexed enough to scare me with two passengers. I did pinch a temperature sensing wire, which was too close for my comfort.

Of course I hadn't thought about the clearance between motor and controller. I can put batteries and wheel on and jump up and down on it like you said but does anybody know what the travel distance of the rear suspension is?

Depends on weight and speed and size of "bumps" you hit. Also depends on condition of the springs, but maybe someone here will know "worst case".

Yours may be far enough behind the motor to clear.

OK, i've really got to show my ignorance. How do i know where post #33 and #34 are? I am trying to make room for two extra batteries. Won't have rear seat but do have rear cargo box and could carry some weight (hopefully a nice big buck). I did put the batteries in and jump up and down on rear of cart. Couldn't make it hit but came within an inch. I think HD springs are in order.

This is why i love this forum, keeps me from screwing up!

It's not clearly a link, but it's blue. If you have an inch clearance you "may" be ok. No rear seat will help, as you could have two heavy people sitting directly over the motor. If you can simulate the worst load on the rear and get a passenger, it will help determine if you have enough clearance.

Also, your driving habits may be tamer than mine.

One option if you have a clearance issue "might" be to rotate the motor. I can't remember if the bolt holes are evenly spaced, but if your terminals are too close for comfort - as in arc welding hazard - you might consider rotating them out of harms way.
