Default The rebuild of the beast from boke..

OK, guys and gals. We jumped into this with both feet. A while back I purchased a rolling chassis from a young gentleman named "boke". No electronics and the rear pumpkin looked like swiss cheese. Took cart pretty much to the frame and cleaned everything up. Then painted what needed to be. Found a 14:1 posi rear end and picked up some Ausco discs for the girl. Was trying to figure out whether to go Sepex or Series. Had to buy motor and controller so now was the time. Was initially going to go Series for the torque but didn't like the 15-17 MPH top speed we were looking at. Talked with a gentleman at D&D and he suggested a Sepex motor with a Curtis 1268 500amp that would allow for two modes. Both a High and Low if you will. We are guessing mid teens in Low and mid 20s in High but not 100% at this time. Using a FnR switch and housing made for the CC Precendent to cover the standard FnR plug. Got controller, motor, solenoid and most of the wiring done.. Now just waiting on the $ for 6 8 volt batteries, a 48 volt charger, roof supports and paint for the body.. I know you guys like pics so here we go..

1. What we started with
2. Pics of exploded rear
3. Not much spider gears left
4. Controller with spaghetti
5. Motor installed

And more

1. More spaghetti
2. For thought time
3. Big bad shop dog
4. Just a pic to show a comparison. Standard cart tire/wheel next to 26" with a bunch of lift. Floor of cart is right at 24 inches.

Will post more as they come..

I am liking the options of the controller and have access to borrow a programmer but may end up buying one if this works as predicted. Two speed shift on the fly will be kewl.

Yep, he is vicious He is our 5 lb warning device. Someone is coming and based on the bark we know to hide something or reach for something.

If this works like I hope, my next PDS upgrade will go this route also.. Will keep the post up to speed but he is building funds now for the rest of the build. His bride has him on a short leash and still has close to a grand to go..

So not going there

I think there were like 4 or 5 teeth left. When they went there were pieces everywhere in the pumpkin which then got caught by the main ring which then punched holes in the casing and cover.
