Default Leaf spring installation

Going to install the heavy duty leaf springs while I got the batteries out. I am going to add a rear seat when I finish rebuilding cart so I will need the heavier springs I been told. I was hoping you guys could tell me if installing new springs is a hard job. Also are there any pointers you can give me to make this transition smooth?

I'm sure there's proper way, and it may be covered in the service manual in the stickies, but removing the bolts from the shackles could result in the spring "springing" quite violently. I used a floor jack, if I recall. I think I dropped the rear of the rear springs, then rolled the rear end off. I think I did all four in one day. It's not that hard, but you'll need jack stands and either a floor jack or a bottle jack. Remove the four cables from the motor, using two wrenches, or one wrench and a socket. Mark which one goes where.

I found MR Sawzall was my friend. If the bolts are seized and wont turn or the bushing, do not worry about destroying them, you should replace everything with your new springs anyway. The FWD rear on my 95 has a different bolt. it has a flat bolt head and can be a bear to hold. Like Adam said using the floor jack to relieve the pressure on each bolt and out they go.
Luck to ya!!

Best tip anyone gave me (thanks to Sir Nuke) was to start spraying it with PB blaster or similar a day or two in advance and then hit it again the day before you do it.
Back ones took two hours, followed his advice and the fronts took about 30 minutes. Major help on the shocks as well.

Thanks for the info and video guys. The springs will be here next week and I have already starting spraying with PB Blaster.

Put your jack stands under the frame. Jack it up nice and high too. More room the better. Once it is on the stands jack up on the rear diff slowly while watching the spring leaves. As soon as you see them start to move up stop. That way you know the spring is neutralized and it will not spring up when the shackle is removed. Unbolt ubolt, front and rear pins and reinstall new spring. I think you might need shock extensions as well. I know I did with my CCDS! It will be easier to do one side at a time as well, that way your axle won't move as much. Axles are easy to line up mind you. I did both sides at the same time but I have chanced springs on everything from pick up trucks to firetrucks, garbage trucks, dump trucks, cement trucks and golf carts! if you are having a hard time lining things up, take the other side unbolt off. It will allow you to shift the axle much easier. Good luck!

i would not take other side off as axle can turn
one side at a time !
they are not hard to do as seen in video
the biggest problem is the front bolt , it is a bear to get out
i use my electric impact and loosen it ,then spin away till it gets warm , then tap it out with hammer , they get rusty
