Default Christmas Cart

Well, spent bout 3 hours replacing battery trays. Had to fabricate some of the brackets that gave support because the rust got them. Here are some photos of the work today.

I am finally getting in the short rows with this cart. I have replaced a lot of parts on this thing. For those of you who remember this cart, it is the one I bought for my child but not realizing how much work it needed to bring it back into good shape.

1. battery racks
2. rear leaf springs
3. front leaf springs
4. battery cable
5. battery bolt repair
6. cut rust out, treated rust with rust doctor
7. coated battery well with bedliner and rubberized undercoating
8. reworked shocks
9. coated bottom body with bedliner spray and rubberized undercoating
10. fixed dents and pings with spot putty
11. Created new battery hold downs

I got new seat covers today called body shop and made appointment to get the cart painted.

After I get the cart back I will have all the molding cleaned and ready to go back on. I will touch up the areas that are black now and repaint the steering wheel. I still have to order a front windshield and a rear mirror and new bagwell.

I am so excited for Christmas to see my 10 year Old's eyes light up. I am painting it mandarin orange and trimming the bars that hold the top up in white. I also am covering the seat with new white covering, trimmed in orange ribbed in center of seat.

Just thought I would share my excitement with you guys since I have got so much help and knowledge here.

Great project! Have any pics of the progress? We'd love to see 'em!

Come Christmas, you'll forget all about all the sweat and labor that went into this, your 10 year old will love it.
