Default Alltrax 1/2 speed reverse.

If I uncheck the 1/2 speed reverse option when programming an Alltrax AXE controller, it doesn't actually disable the 1/2 speed reverse. Why is that?

Maybe you didn't save the changes? go back and look, if not, uncheck the box then save (set) - I like to go to the throttle table page and come back to home page to see if the change stuck
Alltrax recommends you close the program and then reopen it to see if your changes stuck.

The changes save no problem. I've experienced the same thing on all 5 of the AXE controllers I have come across. I figured it was either a glitch or might have been disabled in the programming for liability purposes.

Is there any harm in just running without the orange reverse wire connected?

Good deal. I'm going to hook the 1/2 speed reverse wire up to a toggle so it can be turned on and off as needed.

Sometimes you need full power reverse, sometimes you need more precision 1/2 speed reverse backing up, especially with a high amp controller and even more so with a custom motor.
