Default Re: charging question

A new set of batteries should read 42 volts or higher. This is 7 volts per battery. With the age of your batteries and weather they were taken care of properly they could read 6 volts.
A 6 volt battery is considered dead at 6 volts. Your charger should go down to 3 to 2 amps on the needle and shut off, older batteries may take it down to 5amps and never shut off due to a bad battery. Most of the time when a charger doesn't cutoff it's trying to get one battery to catch up to the rest of the pack.

That's not nearly enough time. Let it charge for 6 or 8 hrs. if it will charge that long. New batteries can take up to 16 hrs. charging the first couple of times. Let the charger cutoff by its self.
