E-Z-GO RXV 2009 Brakes Locked Up
I was driving my 2009 RXV yesterday and the cart almost threw me off the front when the brakes locked up at 15mph. I couldn't move the cart afterwards. The cart indicates that it is charging when I plug it in, but the cart will no longer move when I hit the gas pedal. Anyone have experience with this problem?

Re: E-Z-GO RXV 2009 Brakes Locked Up
if you will do a search on RXV and Brakes you will find a ton of threads and you will find the answer.....there was/is a problem with the first generation of the emergency/hill brake that causes this. EZGO has a newer version replacement brake to remedy the issue.

Re: E-Z-GO RXV 2009 Brakes Locked Up
I think we might be jumping to conclusions. Under the control panel under the seat there are instructions on how to disengage the parking brake when power is lost. The instructions say to plug in the auxiliary power connector. So, I did this and the cart rolls now, but won't drive when the pedal is pressed. This tells me that the brake still works... and it must be a different problem.

Re: E-Z-GO RXV 2009 Brakes Locked Up
Unfortunately, there are so many error codes that will cause it to not run, its a guessing game without the factory scan tool. About the only obvious stuff there is to check is- are the gas and brake pedals all the way up when you turn the key (no junk/debris)? Check the relay, remove the black cover over the controller, inspect the large terminals. They should be nice copper color, if one or both is straw colored (kinda tan/brown) the relay is suspect.

Hey all! Well I was tracing all my wiring and found that the main cable connecting the battery terminal to the solenoid was corroding to the point I was able to pull it off the terminal. I replaced the ring terminal and voila... it works. To think, I almost spent $300 on a brake assembly!
