Default Strange loss of power

Yesterday while takeing the cart on a run to break in new batteries it ran good and strong at first. Then after a brief stop if felt a little sluggish. I keep going (fully depressed pedal) and after a mile or so i felt a little surge and it was back running like it should. This is on fully charged batteries and it has happened before. Checked all connections and everything is good. Not a big problem but any ideas?
