Default Newb with an old 36v that doesnt work

Ok i just bought an old ez-go resistor cart for 175, and got new batteries, 6 12 volts, 3 in series, and each of those sets in parallel. this gets me 36 volts and some nice amperage. i replaced the contacts on my board, and filed the end of my moving contact. when i tried to make it go, i turned the key put it and forward and there was a cloud of smoke. all of my microswitch wires fried. so i rewired all of them, and this time i got nothing, and came to find out 2 of my microswitches mysteriously died. the one by the pedal that senses when you hit the pedal and the other on the FNR switch on the driver side. is there any way i can only replace the one sensing the pedal and just use it? if so can someone make me a wiring diagram to follow? btw the firstnumber on my plate is 80H11

well the thing is i have this guy that refurbishes them and sells them and he's been telling me wrong stuff, and thinks i can't use 6 12 volt batteries. also he said i need 2 microswitches, but just today he gave me the diagram for 80/81 and there's only one on here. so i'm going to try what this says and see what happens. if you guys have suggestions of whatever then tell me cuz the switch i bought then blew is coming in friday so i have plenty of time.

This should be what you need.
The F/R should have 2 micro's on it. One is for forward and the other is for half reverse. The micro at the gas pedal is for on/off of the key switch.
