2005 PDS intermitent problem
I have an 05 PDS that had the four wires from the throtle cut they were repaired when I bought the cart. The cart ran fine for several days. When it stopped running I went directly to the wires. I only wiggled the wires and it began to run again. This has happened several times so I put better connectors on and heat shrinked the wires to make sure conection was solid. The problem has resurfaced again after running fine for several days.
Please help I am stumped!! Diagnostic test is Three beeps then nothing? |

Re: 2005 PDS intermitent problem
I think the first set of beeps is the mode the controller is in. Those wires could have been pulled and one or more is broken internally. Get a volt meter and check them for continuity from one end to the other.

Re: 2005 PDS intermitent problem
I seem to have continuity on both sides. I was told by someone that it was the controller, but I do not understand the problem going and coming and the only common denominator was the wires be messed with.

Re: 2005 PDS intermitent problem
I have repaired 2 PDS carts that had the same problem. In both cases the factory harness seemed to have melted where it bends under the front of the frame and runs under the cart. I ran new wires, soldered the connections and used plastic conduit because of their exposure to water being thrown up from the right front wheel. No failures reported since.

Re: 2005 PDS intermitent problem
I have taken it to someone that does work on Club Car and he is trying to get me to buy a controller for the cart. I feel that you may be right. I am going to replace the four spliced wires and before I do anything else.
When you replaced them did you solder in the middle or the ends or what? |

Re: 2005 PDS intermitent problem
I followed each wire and made soldered connections inside the motor bay and up under the front cowl. This way all the wires were continuous under the vehicle, and the connections were out of the water stream from the right front tire.
