Default Got a Cheap Cart

Got this 1990 Marathon the other day for $150. Looking to fix it up cheap and sell it if possible. The batteries need replaced, minor body work, repainted, and seat covers. I've got a spare 36V charger and an extra set of 23" tires and wheels for it if I get it lifted. What are some options for fixing this thing up cheap and re-selling it? The cost of batteries are gonna kill me. Not sure at this point if my ROI will be better from doing the least amount to it, or going all out with new everything...

Default Re: Got a Cheap Cart

if you are just going to flip it....don't bother lifting it, you won't get the money you just spent on the lift back out of it. so leave the stock wheels/tires on it. Take the old batteries out and look at the true condition of the battery rack. ensure its sound, that should be one of the first things I would be looking at if I were looking to buy a cart that is 23 years old. if yours is in good shape, or you can refurb, do so, and either coat it or at least paint it. Do ALL the cosmetic stuff.....either redo the seat and back, if there are no rips or tears in them, you may be able to get away with a really good cleaning. as far as the body goes.....do the body work yourself a d you can use rattle cans to paint it, if you take your time and do it right. does the cart RUN? if you don't know...you need to find a way to check it out, do you have a set of batteries you can put in it temporarily to check out the drive system? in fact, this would be my first thing to do, before you put any time/money into it.
