Default Craigslist Gem

I have been searching for a while for a cheap build project and I mean Cheap, reason is the wife doesn't want me to tear ours apart cause she loves taking to places like the store, gym and her friends houses in the neighborhood.
So low and behold I come across this little beauty on CL, after a bit of haggling and the magic words "cash in hand" I was loading it on my trailer.

Now the fun begins, O yea.. So my first of probably many questions, what are the pros and cons of rhino lining the frame? Or maybe another idea to protect from rust. Thanks.

well ya got a winner! NOW the questions begin.....

so when you starting asking them, you need to supply some basic info.

1. Year Model
2. Drive System? (series or sepex ......http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...en-system.html )

oh....forgot.....ANY coating, whether its a Rhino Lining or something else.....do it right so as to protect the frame from the elements. It kind of depends on how you plan on using the buggy as to whether to use something like Rhino Lining....or just paint it.....or go all out and have it powder coated.

Nuke, its a 97 DCS cart.

Thanks Muck, I'm not planning on repainting it either, I like the nostalgia.

As far as the protective coating goes, check out POR-15. the POR stands for paint over rust. Hit the bad spots with a wire brush, rinse, let dry, then you can brush/roll it on. It is used widely on old VW floor pans and frames. Good stuff.

POR-15.... You won't be sorry! And thanks for not repainting it. I'd love to see more pics of it.

I will post some pics later this weekend, out of town for the holidays although I did manage to get the body off, drop both axles before I left, if I get home early enough I will start to bust the rust.
