Default Exide batteries

Just researching them and ran across a couple of articles that said California EPA shut down one of their plants and they have filed bankruptcy. Are they still making batteries somewhere, or if you can find them is it old stock? Seems that some really like them, but got a few questions now.

According to WSJ, Exide is continuing the produce batteries while reorganizing under Chapter-11.

A lead recycling facility in Vernon, CA was shut down due to the RepubliK of Kalifornia's Department of Toxic Substances Control claim that the facility's storm-water system violates state regulations, however that facility resumed operations after obtaining a preliminary injunction ruling in its favor from a Los Angeles Superior Court.

Exide puts the date of manufacture on their batteries, so check the labels.

I bought Exide batteries because they gave me what I determined was the best bang for the buck, for my application, in my geographical location.

Other brands may workout better in other applications in other areas, but they all are contenders.

In a nutshell: Buy the highest AH rated batteries your budget allows at the best price you can find locally, that are practical for your specific cart.

Well I was in Academy sports today and noticed the only batteries in the deep cycle shelf was Exide, so apparently someone is still shipping them. And yes California rules are not quite like the rest of us functional folks!
