1994 marathon wiring issues

I recently purchased a used '94 marathon and started to inspect the batteries and found 2 of the 6 six volt batteries are wired + to +. Is their a reason for this or did the last owner not know what he was doing. Does anyone have the correct wiring diagram for this model or any insight on my situation?

All of the batteries must be wired + to --. You will have 36v total. Check the stickys at the top of the EZGO section for wiring diagrams.
