Default lights work, but after using them driving for 5-10 minutes, don't turn on again

If the cart sits for a while, we have tried about 2 hours or so, they work again.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Aubie what is their power source? Are they connected to a single 12 volt battery, a voltage reducer, or two of the battery pack batteries?

I am not certain. I am trying to troubleshoot this for my father in law and don't have access to it right now.

I don't recall any 12V batteries that would run them. My guess would be a reducer or two of the batteries. it is a 3 bench cart and I believe is a 48V system.

Thank you for trying to help.

When you can, it would help us to know the year and model of the cart. If you're not sure, there is a serial plate in the right glove box. Just give us the info on it. Many carts had factory lights and many had aftermarket lights. How they are connected and their voltages are different.

Wont let me post pics since I have not been a member 7 days.

I found Serial # 2383090 by the plug receptacle. There didn't seem to be one in the glovebox.

I plugged in the serial # and appears to be a "Shuttle : Electric 48 V : 48 Volt Shuttle 4/6 : 2006 "

Thanks again for the help.

Sounds like a corroded connection.

This Manual should cover your cart, it has schematics for both accessories and the drive system.

Thanks - I guess that may make sense. I did notice on the plugs, in harness line, just behind the lights that seemed to be corroded...tried to scrape them and add dielectric grease.

I guess I should get back in there and sand them well. Any other common areas for corrosion I should look into?

My vote is a failing on/off switch. Is the headlight switch in the dash part of the key switch ?
