2008 EZGO RXV Died in Minutes of Driving. Very frustrated.
Hi guys,
Please take the time to read every detail. I'm very frustrated and new to this whole situation. I greatly appreciate your help everyone! As of right now, I'm both very disappointed and frustrated at the same time. - I have a 2008 EZGO RXV and I've purchased it around 3 months ago. - The Battery is from 8/2011 - I always fully charge my golf cart before leaving. It already had problems after the first drive, whereas I will drive a very minimal range and it will go on reserve battery. I've had it fixed once, which the dealer said that acid in one portion was not balanced with the other batteries, therefore it triggered the controller that something was wrong, resulting in the shutdown of the batteries. Again, after it getting fixed, couple of drives later, the state returned back to its original state. Today, I went out for a drive on full charge and 5 minutes later, the orange blink showed up indicating it was now on reserve battery. I had to turn back around and make it home before I ran out of juice. I had enough of the constant issues. We paid little more to the dealer, expecting higher quality than were to be purchased from ordinary sellers. 1. Do you think what I provide is a valid reason to either get my money back or exchange for an another golf cart? 2. What are my options as to FIXING this issue myself? Thanks everyone again for reading and any help would be greatly appreciated. |

I'm no expert and new to carts myself. The first thing that comes to my mind is the batteries are only a couple years old but have been neglected.

You have to get your DVM out and measure your battery pack 12 hrs after the charger shuts off , then drive 10 min and measure battery pack again
By doing this you are establishing a bench mark to compare to , then measure each individual battery , they all should be within .1 volts to each other ( more then likely you have a dead cell in one battery, or loose connection on battery cable) The individual battery that measures lower then all the others is the bad one Is this RXV lifted with larger tires on stock controller ? Post results Cheers! |

When you buy a electric cart , you will have to learn basic preventive testing
Procedures ex. Reading voltage levels on individual batteries is a must , its really not that hard to do Check out stickies on EZGO section that will help you |

The guys are right about cart owners needing to know basic battery maintenance and testing yadda yata BUT - I know there are some people who just have no desire (interest) to do these things. My ___ and my ___ being two of those people. Both prefer to have the qualified dealer correct the situation. They are the same way with their cars ... so, CALL CALL CALL - Tell him you prefer a different cart if this one won't run properly or a refund if they can't deliver what you paid for.

Might want to take it to the next step and get a new cart with a warranty. I don't know if thats an option, just thought I'd throw it out there.

Most likely cause is bad batteries.

If you do a search for your cart (2008 RXV) you will find many people experiencing the same set of problems. If it was me I would exchange your cart.
