Unhappy Ezgo RXV 2012

I'm trying to understand trouble codes given to me by a mechanic. They are:

Throttle zero check and
Communications Supervision

Any clarification would be appreciated. Thanks!

Throttle zero check = keyswitch activated while throttle not at zero, causing no operation (safety lockout). Foot on pedal before turn on? Floormat inhibiting pedal return to zero?

Comms supervision = this code is not defined to dealers by ezgo, i guess (and this is only a guess) it is for EZGOs use, to monitor for attempts to change settings not normally used by anyone other than ezgo.

About the only thing i dont like about the newer curtis controller RXVs (like you have), is, now there is no timestamp to help identify when a code occured (very helpful in identifying the relevancy of a code in identifying any problem you may be chasing).

Thanks cgtech for the information. Regarding the floormat, do you mean the rubber that runs around the pedal on the floor?(no mats in car, other than the rubber glued to floor) Is this a common occurrence and something that should be looked at and repaired? What has to happen in order to correct this?

I am refering to aftermarket add-on floormats that sometimes dont stay where they should.

Thanks for the reply. It does not have floor mats, it's a used cart. Is this an easy fix, or a costly fix?

I am unclear what you mean.. What problem? Does the cart run? Just because there is a code in there, that doesnt mean anything is currently happening wrong. The codes can just indicate what has happened in the past, this is what i was talking about in the third portion of my original response "no timestamp".

In my 2009 rxv the factory floor mat isn't glued down. It is held on using the plastic "Christmas tree fasteners" and the screws that hold the black plastic side sill plates.

When you remove the sill plates and the "Christmas tree fasteners" the rubber mat comes up. Also there is another rubber piece just around the gas pedal. Then there is a hard plastic access cover that covers the pedals. I have seen garbage in there that interferes with the gas pedal and it has caused my cart to not go when turned on.

Does pulling back on the gas pedal before you switch the key on help at all?

My 2 cents worth...

I had an issue with my RXV not responding to the pedal, and it wouldn't move. Turned out I had to tighten the spring from the accelerator pedal so the pedal would rebound all the way. Made the pedal a tad harder to push, but more predictable.

My dealer told me last summer that a rubber boot around the throttle pedal is now standard on new RXVs. They installed one for me free of charge. No issues since.
