Re: 98 ezgo steering pinion HELP!!
There is a retainer clip that holds it in place where you disconnected the steering column, once you remove that it should come apart.

Re: 98 ezgo steering pinion HELP!!
Ive downloaded it and looked it over countless times. Hmmm I guess someone must have taken it apart before cause there was no retainer clip either. This whole thing has me scratching my head. Gonna get a slide hammer tomarrow and see if that works

Re: 98 ezgo steering pinion HELP!!
If the rubber lip seal is still in there, it must come out first. The snap-ring is behind the seal. Otherwise, there should be no more resistance than some wiggling would overcome.

Re: 98 ezgo steering pinion HELP!!
This is where im at now . Someone must have taken it apart before cause there wasn't any snap ring when I disassembled. My brothers gonna bring over a slide hammer and some pullers tomorrow so hopefully it'll work.

Re: 98 ezgo steering pinion HELP!!
I agree with ScottB. I see a snap ring. It's not the typical type with the ears & two holes that you use snap ring pliers on. This type, use small screwdrivers or picks to pry it out.
