ok, when i jump the two lg posts, the cart moves when you depress the pedal, both forward and reverse, so i am therefore assuming that the solenoid is bad.. am i correct to make this assumption? is there any other way to test a noid?? thanks for all the help i have received in this matter, i LOVE this site!!! kenneth

replace your solenoid you should be good to go, make sure you disconnect main battery cables before doing the job so you don,t smoke anything else..........its just an extra 10 minutes of work...............................

just a rookie question, does the solenoid have to be grounded to wk correct, just wondering if i need to unwire and unbolt the old one first, or if i can just disconnect wires and hook to new one to ensure this old noid is bad before going to all the trouble to unbolt the old one as it is in a very hard to get to place!! thanks kenneth.. also my new one is different from old one and not sure about thw wiring, does it matter which big post has which wire, as well as does it matter which wire goes to which small post?? thanks kenneth

I just read this thread and really .... just because the cart runs with a jumped solenoid does not mean the solenoid is bad...what about the micro switch? If the micro-switch at the F&R is not sending the signal to close the solenoid will not work yet you can jump it to go

batts are fine, went today to the cart shop, man they love to see me pull in!!! i talked to them and they also said it could possibly the micro switch(he showed me how to check the cont across it to make sure it is calling for juice togo to the solenoid) so i went ahead and picked up a new micro, as well as a new diode that crosses between two smaller posts, will try all this when i get home from wk this afternoon!! thanks for your ideas, you were right inline with theirs!! keep your fingers crossed for me as i try these when i get home!! will update results!
