OK the skinny on building a cart.
Realisticly decide what kind of driving you will be doing with it. Flat ground Hills, mud whatever yuo think it's going to see the most of.

Controller will help TORQUE ONLY if this is all you do to it.
MOTOR will get you speed or torque depending on the motor you buy.
Voltage = batteries will get you both.
Upgrading to a heavy duty selonoid will be a must no matter which you do.
Cables need to go to a #2 at least.

ok well i will be using the golf cart at my deerlease, so it will need to be able to climb some hills, but i will also be using it in my neighborhood and thats why i would atleast like to keep the speed that it has stock. I have seen high torque motors, high speed motors, and speed and torque motors. if i go with the high torque motor, what all would i have to change out and would it be slower than stock? if so, then i guess i would need the speed and torque motor, if thats the case what all would i need for that? thanks guys, sorry so many questions

I would go with a 450 alltrax programed and cables and selonoid. If your speed has to be more then go for the combo motor. Stay under 3600-4000 RPM motor.

ok so the 450 alltrax programed is just the controller...atleast thats what comes up when i search for it, that mean i can just keep my OEM motor and just get a different controller?

You will need a controller that works with a PDS cart. Check out Cartzone they are who I bought mine from. Call them and tell them what you plan to do with the cart, they will in turn tell you what you need.
